Thank you for being a part of our journey. 2023 was an exciting year here at Steamoji!  We celebrated many milestones including: 

  • Opening our first US-based Steamoji Academies, 
  • Earning accreditation with STEM.org, and 
  • Expansion in our franchise network to over 25 Steamoji territories.

Since opening, we have led 63,312 Project Sessions, nurtured 6,709 Apprentices, and opened 15 new Steamoji Academies in Canada and the US.

Hank harbored a vision – to future-proof his children. Recognizing a gap in both traditional schools and after-school education, Hank, driven by his background in tech and education, considered this endeavor his personal passion. In a collaborative effort with like-minded parents and experts, including TR Harrington, a marketing entrepreneur, and Mikhail Baiman, a business development expert, Steamoji was founded. The inaugural academy opened its doors in West Vancouver in 2019. Fast forward to today, with over 25 territories sold, Steamoji is on the brink of opening another 25 by the end of 2024.

Leading our tremendous growth, is VP of Development and Steamoji Co-Founder Mikhail Baiman. Today, he takes a moment to share insights into Steamoji’s strategic vision and commitment to creating a meaningful and profitable investment opportunity. 

1 – Given the importance of technology in our franchise system, could you elaborate on how technological advancements are enhancing operational efficiency for franchisees, thereby maximizing the potential return on investment?

Mikhail: Our commitment to leveraging technology plays a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiency for Steamoji franchisees. Technological advancements are seamlessly integrated into our franchise system, providing franchisees with cutting-edge tools to streamline operations. From robust learning management systems for optimized curriculum delivery to state-of-the-art communication platforms fostering seamless collaboration between franchise owners, staff, and parents, we prioritize technology as a catalyst for operational excellence. By embracing technology, we aim to maximize the potential return on investment for our franchisees.

2 – How will you continue to develop and implement support programs for franchisees, ensuring their success and, in turn, the success of our investors?

Mikhail: At Steamoji, we recognize that the success of our franchisees is directly tied to the success of our investors. Our support initiatives encompass a multifaceted approach, leveraging the latest technological advancements and industry best practices. We will continue to provide thorough training programs, ensuring that franchisees are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to run successful Academies. Our support extends to operational aspects, offering guidance on efficient Academy management, technology integration, marketing support, peer networking, and regular performance reviews. As we strive to open another 25 territories by the end of 2024, our focus on comprehensive support programs remains unwavering, reinforcing our belief that the success of our franchisees is paramount to the success of our investors.

3 – What key performance indicators (KPIs) do you consider crucial in measuring the success of Steamoji franchises, and how does this translate into a secure and profitable investment for interested parties?

Mikhail: At Steamoji, we consider several crucial KPIs to assess the success of our franchises and ensure a secure and profitable investment for interested parties. These include enrollment rates, student retention, financial performance, academic achievement, franchisee satisfaction, brand recognition, operational efficiency, and technology adoption. Proven demand, financial viability, brand strength, a supportive network, adaptability, and innovation contribute to a secure foundation for investment, ensuring a transparent and data-driven understanding of the potential for success and profitability within our franchise system.

Congratulations to our Franchisee of the Year, Bella at Steamoji Richmond Central! After just a few months of being open, Steamoji Richmond Central has exceeded membership targets and cemented itself as a cornerstone of the local STEM community.

Apprentices earn Oji coins for every session they attend, both for themselves to spend in the Prize Station, and for their Academy’s House Team. This is Steamoji’s gamification in action.
