I’m Adam Hart and I’m a partner and Academy Director at Steamoji Kitsilano.
Why did you franchise a Steamoji academy?
I decided to franchise a Steamoji academy because I saw that the way the world’s changing we’re seeing diminishing returns on traditional education over time. At the same time, we’re seeing opportunistic growth in technologies and educational tools provided that can give kids a better start to grow creatively and to be more prepared for the future.
Why did you choose Steamoji over other academies?
I chose Steamoji over other opportunities because first of all i think that the brand really connects with children. I think that the curriculum is broad enough that it provides exposure to lots of technologies and opportunities for kids in the future and in their careers and education but most of all because kids are excited to come here. Our apprentices leave stoked and after a month of coming here you can see it’s apparent that they have a new enthusiasm for STEM education, technology and the opportunities it provides.
What do you hope to achieve over the next 5 years?
I hope in five years we’re integrated well within the community. I hope that we’re involved in after school programs and we’re brought into schools for seminars to expose kids to STEM education. I hope that we’re recognized as one of the best providers of this type of education. I also hope that we can have five academies in five years across Greater Vancouver.
What message would you like to share with your local community?
We just opened in Kitsilano and I would love to invite you down to check out our academy and see if it’s right for you and your kids. We’re currently offering free trials so your kids can come into a project in robotics or 3D printing and you can see if it’s right for you guys.
